In 2022, Triste left the small rooms behind and moved to Fórum Lisboa, the old Cinema Roma on the bustling Avenida de Roma. The festival ran from 8 to 11 December and made clear the growth — and the audience's demand — for a space dedicated to less-than-happy endings.

That year the festival mostly hosted Portuguese films - shorts and features - including the acclaimed “Ice Merchants” by João Gonzalez, Portugal’s Oscar entry in 2023, “Alcindo” by Miguel Dores, and “O Teu Nome É” by Paulo Patrício.
As in the previous year, the variety of themes across the submitted films led to thematic sessions: “Age and Identity”, “In Search”, “Driven by Superstition” and “Before and After the End”.
For the National Competition jury we welcomed Nuno Gervásio - creative, screenwriter and programmer at Shortcutz Lisboa; Rafaela Teixeira, journalist and film critic at her project Mega Cult; and Rui Mendes, coordinator and programmer at IndieLisboa. For the International Competition the jury was Ana Cabral Martins, researcher and programmer at Indie; Duarte Coimbra, filmmaker; and Guilherme Daniel, cinematographer and filmmaker. A feature-film jury also joined the festival: Alexandre Braga, filmmaker, university lecturer and cultural programmer; João Gil, filmmaker and visual artist, winner of Triste’s National Competition in 2021; and Maria Ângela da Silva, co-founder of Prosa Plataforma Cultural and art mediator at MAAT.
